I recently moved here from the Austin area with my husband, Randy, and my 3-year-old
son, Jake. Our family also consists of three dogs (Sierra, Bud & Scout) and two
cockatiels (Storm & Sunny). Although I have always wanted to work with homeless
animals, I have never worked rescue due to my teaching responsibilities. I've been
teaching elementary special ed. and coaching creative problem-solving for the past 15
years. Teaching and coaching occupied all of my weekday as well as weekend hours.
This year I am not teaching and was thrilled when I met Sheila and learned that she was
involved in the pet committee. I told her I would be happy to foster any homeless dogs
and it wasn't long before she called and asked if I would pick up a shepherd/lab mix.
Pretty Girl has been with us for 2 and a half weeks now and we are loving every minute
with her. She brings new energy and life into our animal-loving family and we are so
excited about helping her find a forever home!!
I look forward to serving on the pet committee whenever and however I am needed. It is
such a joy working with people who love animals as much as I do!!
